Research Projects

Main University Projects

Employing Wildfire Simulations as Predictors for Economical Risk Management

(U.C. Berkeley, Fall 2019 – Spring 2020)

Examining real-time, low computation wildfire prediction simulations, as a novel firefighting technique and identifying links in simulation and mapping technologies and possible industrial markets such as in insurance ()

Carbonate Cement: Thermal Performance and Recycling Potential

(Rutgers University, Spring 2018 – Spring 2019)

Independently designed procedures and conducted analysis for temperature driven decarbonation, and composition and strength dependence on temperature and density for carbonate cement ()

Shining a Light on KYb2F7 as a Host for Bio-Applications

(Rutgers University, Summer 2016 – Fall 2017)

Investigated KYb2F7 nano/micro-phosphors as an alternative hydrothermal and solvothermal synthesis rare earth dopant host for NIR to visible/UV upconversion. Specifically Lattice distortion and emissions were compared ()

International Research

Continuous Supercritical Hydrothermal Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Synthesis

(Tohoku University, Japan, Summer 2018)

Took initiative to restructure HPLC reactor system, and integrate a continuous characterization method and computer-directed flow program for continuous supercritical hydrothermal MOx nanoparticles synthesis ()

Synthesis of a Mannose Substituted Pyrene Amphiphile

(Jilin University, China, Summer 2017)

Synthesized a mannose substituted pyrene amphiphile that self-assembled into nano-sheets, and represented Rutgers at several speeches and cultural exchanges during a summer fellowship ()
